I have a Win2003 SP2 box running IIS 6. I stopped W3SVC yesterday to allow for a web application to be installed and when I went to start it back up it just sat with a status of "starting". In the application event log i get 16 (SIXTEEN) errors like this "Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.2.3790.3959, faulting module iisutil.dll, version 6.0.3790.3959, fault address 0x0000e471" followed by "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". I then restarted the server and after logging on I got about 6 "Generic Host Process for W32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close" messages. Any ideas how to get the service back up?Hibs Ya Bass!
